This private Presbyterian university has a reputation for excellence. The university covers a traditional range of subjects, but its engineering department is especially good. The campus itself has its model in an Italian village and the structures are all red brick. Sculptures scatter over the grounds, the most famous being Dame Barbara Hepworth’s "Conversation with Magic Stones.” The Murchison Tower is the high point on the campus (and once the high point of San Antonio) and is lit up bright at night.
